Hi, I’m Josh — a Strength & Conditioning coach and Personal Trainer with 16+ years of 1:1 coaching experience, helping athletes perform at a higher level and busy professionals rebuild a strong, capable body.
My coaching is built on two things that most people never combine properly:
1) The basics—done well & consistently
before the rest
Progress isn’t complicated. But it does require doing the right things, repeatedly:
- smart training structure
- sustainable nutrition
- recovery and lifestyle management
That's not to say we won't be doing the highly specific, dynamic movements you see your favourite athletes (or toughest competitors) doing, but it does mean that when you start to put these in, you know you've earned it.
2) Training that’s individual—because generic programming fails
Most “programs” are built for the average person. The problem is: you’re not the average person.
That’s why I use testing and ongoing assessment to guide your plan. Whether it’s performance, physique, resilience, movement quality or return-to-sport readiness, the goal is always the same: build what you need most, then progress it methodically.

Strength & Conditioning (Athletes)
I work with professional, semi-professional and developing athletes, and I’ve supported youth athletes reaching national representation (including England boxing, England golf, and England football). My current S&C focus includes endurance running, combat sports, football, Hyrox and golf.
This is performance coaching—built around:
- what your sport demands
- where you’re currently limited (speed, strength, conditioning, tissue capacity, movement)
- what will move the needle fastest with the time you actually have
Personal Training (Busy Professionals)
For busy, high-performing professionals, the goal is usually simpler: feel better, look better, perform better — without living in the gym.
Here you get a plan that respects your schedule, stress and energy, while still driving real, visible progress through the fundamentals.
Credentials (high-level)
- BSc Sport & Exercise Science (2014)
- MSc Strength & Conditioning (2017)
- UKSCA accredited S&C coach (ASCC)
- Precision Nutrition L1 coach
- IOPN Level 7 diploma in Performance Nutrition
- Plus extensive CPD across speed, sprinting, strength, movement and conditioning
A bit more personal
I live in Burnley with my fiancée, Kayla, and our two kids, Isobel and Oliver.
Outside of coaching, I train regularly and I’m big on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Hyrox. I like challenges that keep me sharp, build resilience, and remind me what it feels like to be a student again—because that mindset carries straight back into the quality of my coaching.
